The Medical Model Massage Institute offers a comprehensive and challenging course of study that is broken into four terms.

Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology = 296 hours
Functional Anatomy = 44 hours
Assessment Skills = 24 hours
Total Basic Science: 364 hours

Massage Theory & Procedures = 300 hours
Application Lab = 40 hours
Passive Massage Clinical Experience = 16 hours
Total Limited Branch: 356

Ethics = 25 hours
Business & Law – Functional Information= 25 hours

Class Schedule
 
Term 1 classes are held on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00am until 4:00pm, with breaks and lunch.

Term 2 classes are held on Tuesday and Friday from 8:00am until 4:00pm; Wednesday from 8:00am until 3:00pm; and Thursday from 8:00 until 5:00pm, with breaks and lunch.

Term 3 classes are held on Tuesday from 8:00-3:00, Thursday from 8:00-4:00 and Friday from 8:00am until 2:00pm; with breaks and lunch.

Term 4 classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00am until 3:00pm or 6:00 with Passive Massage Clinic; Wednesday from 9:00 until 3:30 pm, and Friday from 8:00am until 3:00pm, with breaks and lunch.

Above and Beyond-

The four (4) Term system: This program goes above and beyond the State Medical Board of Ohio requirement of 750 hours because the curriculum is taught in the Medical Model format. The student is prepared to take the State Board Examination. If the Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) is selected, they may continue on in the advanced training of the M.T. Wellness Masters Center for Certification in Medical Restorative Massage Therapy© without any additional continuing education. Opportunities for employment with M.T. Wellness Clinic are ensured with this Certification.

Admission Requirements
 
The following information is necessary for enrolling in the diploma granting course in Medical Massage Therapy. Successful completion of the diploma program qualifies one to take the State Medical Board of Ohio Massage Therapy Examination for licensure as a Medical Massage Therapist.

In order to be eligible for admission to the Institute a prospective student must meet the following criteria:

1. Pass Pre-requisite Training with at least 75% or better.
2. Pass a background check.
3. Some post-high school education preferred..
4. Submit an admissions essay.
5. Visit the M.T. Wellness – Medical Model Massage Institute and Interview with the Director
6. Have on file a preliminary number issued for the State Medical Board of Ohio.
7. Complete the following forms and send to:

Application for Admission:

• Have official transcripts sent directly to M.T. Wellness - Medical Model Massage Institute from prior High School/GED/Post Secondary schools.
• Current Resume.
• Get a physical and have Physical Health Examination Form completed by your physician (MD or DO) and sent to M.T. Wellness - Medical Model Massage Institute. An ATB test is required.
• Complete Part A of the Recommendation Form on both copies:
-Send with a stamped envelope, addressed (to M.T. Wellness - Medical Model Massage Institute) to:
- An academic (school)
- An employment reference (employer or fellow employee).
- Recipient to Complete Part B and mail directly to the M.T. Wellness - Medical Model Massage Institute as soon as possible.
• Authorize Reference Verification on Application form
• A non-refundable, non-transferable application fee payment of $100
• Gain Admission Committee acceptance

Receipt of $1,021 deposit for 1st term tuition and fees reserves a place in the class.

Written notice of acceptance and list of required texts will be sent.

Tuition, Fees and Other Costs
 
Tuition for the four term Medical Model Massage Institute program is $12,250. Tuition payments are payable in five installments as outlined below.

Tuition: $12,250

Tuition Deposit: $1,021 payable upon admission to the program

-Term 1: Balance of $2,041.50 due 1st week of term 1.
-Term 2: Payment of $3,062.50 due 1st week of term 2.
-Term 3: Payment of $3,062.50 due 1st week of term 3.
-Term 4: Payment of $3,062.50 due 1st week of term 4.
