Why a Career in Medical Restorative Massage Therapy?

Medical restorative massage therapy is a great career choice for dedicated, licensed massage therapists that enjoy the daily challenges of helping patients reduce pain and regain physical function through massage therapy.

What makes it a great career choice? Here are four key considerations:

  • Demand is strong and growing
  • Personal rewards
  • Professional rewards
  • Financial rewards

Demand for medical restorative massage therapy is growing and it is projected to grow for years to come. Why?

  • Patients rave about the results delivered by medical restorative massage, and they drive high levels of referrals.
  • The population is aging, and aches, pains, and loss of physical function are an inevitable part of the aging process.
  • There is growing awareness of the benefits of medical restorative massage.
  • Growth in the number of therapists trained in medical restorative massage contributes to the virtuous cycle of growth.

The personal rewards of the career revolve around the satisfaction gained from helping people, many of who are experiencing serious or pain or significant loss of physical function. For the therapists that work at the M. T. Wellness Clinic, the single biggest reward is the personal satisfaction of seeing your work help someone regain his or her quality of life. They will all tell you that it is an amazing feeling.

Careers in medical restorative massage are also professionally rewarding because of the extensive advanced training and the opportunity to work with other health care professionals on a daily basis. The daily challenges of working with patients with a wide range of needs and conditions also contribute to the professional rewards of the career.

Finally, careers in medical restorative massage are also financially rewarding because therapists in medical restorative massage benefit from a very simple formula:

Full schedules + Above average rates = Great income potential.
